Rare representation of a rare factory built racing car. Research notes: Carrera denotes the high performance version of a Porsche model. 406 were produced in 1981-82 to homologate the model for Group 4 FIA, 4 versions ; GT, GTS, CLUB SPORT & GTR which appears in this poster. All used the SOHC 2.0L Turbo with performance increase for each version. 17 GTR were built exclusively as factory racers (375 HP, 2050 lb) 3 entered by factory team at LeMans in '81 & '82. The other models were intended for customers. They remained competitively active several years; I saw one at SCCA TRANS-AM race 1985, some still active in VINTAGE RACING. A Clubsport version recently sold for 0K.
