For your consideration is this Top-Of-The-Line Offering from Hilborn & Hamburger; 1930's to WWII U.S. Navy Officer hat-badge insignia. It's Completely original - uncleaned. It's makers marked by both H&H and Viking, which was common for their high-end products for both the Navy and Marine Corps. Typically the gold portions of an insignia were made by Viking, while the Sterling portion was made in house by H&H. This badge is absolutely pristine, with just minor patina that could be cleaned to a like-new shine by its new owner should they desire. What truly makes this badge stand out is the anchors are made of 1/10 14k Gold ! Typically 99% the badges of this era were made from 1/20 10k gold over sterling, or with rolled gold plate. The difference is extremely noticeable in person. There were none nicer offered during WWII, and for the extra price, there were not very many of these sold. This badge is in phenomenal condition for being 75+ years old... a true time capsule.
