    Description

The Costa Rica 2,000 Colones Banknote from 2013 is part of the 2009-2015 series that depicts the original drawings of illustrator Fernando Zeledon. The note has embossed dots above the watermark designed for the sight-impaired. Its obverse side features the Colegio Superior de Senoritas building in San Jose, the map of Costa Rica in OVI, and a portrait of Costa Rican politician and lawyer Mauro Fernandez Acuna. Its reverse side depicts the beauty of marine life, featuring the coral reef, starfish, bull shark, turtles, and corals. The note is 132 x 67 mm in size and is equipped with a Windowed security thread with demetalized BCCR 2000 to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would show a watermark image of Mauro Fernandez Acuna and electrotype 2000.
