    Description

    This uncirculated 1,000 Costa Rican colon banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Central Bank of Costa Rica in 2009. It is a red polymer banknote that measures 125 mm x 67 mm and bears the signature of Francisco de Paula Gutierrez and Roy Gonzalez Rojas. Its obverse side shows the portrait of the former head of state Braulio Carrillo Colina, the original ESTADO DE COSTA RICA shield, and a map of Costa Rica on a see-through leaf. Its reverse side shows a dry forest landscape in Guanacaste with pitahaya cactus flowers, a white-tailed deer, and trees.
