The Porsche 924S. Its engaging demeanour may tend to obscure its true nature.
It is difficult, when one first views the 924S, not to be taken in immediately with its downright good looks. It is a brash, self-assured look. The car has charm.
So much so that while Porsche enthusiasts and others are trying to remain cerebral in their approach to this new automobile, they may find, too late, that it has absconded with their emotions.
This is especially the case when you leave the motorways behind you and take the 924S onto more challenging roads where a growing affection quickly becomes respect. Even when driven very hard, this new Porsche displays impeccable manners, the kind of behaviour that is a direct reflection of its lineage.
Much of the 924S's performance and road handling is owed to the 944. It utilizes the same
2.5 litre Porsche engine found in the 944, the same suspension and braking systems, the same transmission.
